February 8, 2025 – A missing 11-year-old girl was found dead in a wooded area near Épinay-sur-Orge, a town in the Essonne department south of Paris. Two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the case.
Disappearance and Macabre Discovery
Louise, 11, disappeared on Friday afternoon after leaving André Maurois middle school in Épinay-sur-Orge. When she did not return home, her family raised the alarm, prompting a social media campaign and calls for witnesses throughout Essonne.
Police quickly mobilized and, around 2:30 AM on Saturday, discovered Louise's body in a wooded area near Longjumeau, not far from Épinay-sur-Orge. According to a police source, she had suffered head trauma.
Suspects Arrested
During the night, the anti-crime brigade (BAC) arrested two individuals in Épinay-sur-Orge and placed them in custody on charges of kidnapping and sequestration.
The first suspect is a 23-year-old man of North African origin, identified as Rayane Ben Saïd. He is reportedly known to police, with six entries on his criminal record. The second suspect is a 20-year-old woman of European descent, who is not known to police.
Investigation Underway
The motives and circumstances surrounding the crime remain unclear. The judicial police have launched a thorough investigation to determine the facts.
