Tel Aviv, Israel – A shipment of 1,800 bunker-buster bombs, including MK-84 and GBU-28 models, has arrived in Israel. Each bomb weighs 2,000 pounds and is capable of penetrating up to 100 meters through layers of rock, concrete, and reinforced metal.

The Pentagon announced the shipment of these weapons to Israel two weeks prior. The transfer was completed following President Trump's decision to lift a hold that the previous administration had placed on the delivery of certain munitions.

The shipment includes 1,800 MK-84 bombs, a delivery that had been delayed for months. MK-84 bombs are unguided 2,000-pound bombs that can penetrate thick concrete and metal, creating a wide blast radius. The GBU-28 is a laser-guided "bunker busting" bomb that weighs between 4,000 and 5,000 pounds.

While the U.S. had paused a shipment of 2,000-pound and 500-pound bombs in May due to concerns over their potential impact on civilians in densely populated areas of Gaza, the hold was lifted by the Trump administration.

The delivery arrives amidst concerns about the fragility of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, with both sides accusing each other of violations
