Qatar expressed its confidence today, Tuesday, in the durability of the ceasefire agreement, which was concluded last Tuesday and came into effect on Sunday.
In a weekly press conference directed to international news agencies, Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari stated that the terms of the agreement between Israel and Hamas addressed all of the contentious points between the two parties. He emphasized that Qatar is fully confident that both parties will fully adhere to all the conditions and clauses outlined in the agreement.
Despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement yesterday, expressing uncertainty about the continuation of the agreement between Israel and Hamas, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the resilience of the agreement until all its phases are completed. At the same time, they stressed the importance of long-term patience between the two parties and the need to avoid any violations of the agreement until all three phases are finalized.
Last week, Qatar, with mediation from Egypt, the U.S., and Qatar itself, announced a 45-day ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, effectively ending a conflict that had lasted for over 18 months. The hope is that the truce will persist until all phases are completed and peace can be achieved in the region.
